Hello and welcome, As I promised on my social media, I have compiled a list of the three best places to visit while in Barcelona. If you live in Barcelona and are reading this list, please let me know if you agree. If you have been to Barcelona or are planning to visit, you want to see these great places. I am spending a whole year in Barcelona with my husband and son. I can't get enough of this fantastic city, from its architecture to the restaurants- I have honestly never had such great food in my life. Barcelona is a great place to wine and dine - with its perfect Mediterranean diet- Michelin star restaurants. You will be eating your heart away in the city. With no further due, here are the best five places to visit in Barcelona.
Montserrat
You don't want to miss hiking this great mountain; I enjoyed walking Monserrat with my son, husband, and father-in-law. I felt like I was stepping on holy ground; I am always in awe of all who dedicate their lives to spiritual awakening. They deny specific experiences to feel that closeness to God / Higher Power. I couldn't help but feel the spiritual presence at Monserratt- the statues of the Virgin of Montserrat and the monks made me feel like I was on holy ground.
Gothic Quarter
The Gothic quarter is for history lovers like myself; being in the Gothic quarter makes you feel like you are living in medieval Europe, and the beautifully preserved historical architectural building will leave you breathless. Here you will find endless Catalan restaurants, bars, and nightlife. Make sure to check out the cathedral of Barcelona while you are there.
Plaça de Catalunya
You will not want to miss visiting plaça de Catalunya, it's right in the city center and where the old wall of Barcelona meets the new 19th-century architecture. I especially enjoy strolling down Passeig de Gràcia, Rambla de Catalunya, and La Rambla with my son. Especially during this time of the year ( October, September, and November ) right before winter begins.
